Annamaria Johansson is a prolific and extremely talented artist based in Stockholm. She was born in 1986 in a city called Östersund which lies in the northern part of Sweden. At an early age, she had great urge to paint and draw. 

Life's twist and turns got Annamaria into the corporate world after working a couple of years in the health care sector as a registered nurse. While working she continued study at Stockholm’s University to complete a Bachelor’s degree in business administration.

She eventually left the corporate world to chase her lifelong dream. She has been creating aesthetic and emotionally appealing paintings for people across the globe. 

​

Annamaria currently work as full-time artist from her studio in the heart of Stockholm - a space that she believes need more creativity and free-spritedeness.

​

Annamaria’s work is strongly influenced by the candid description of being a human in today’s society.  She believes that we all have a higher purpose and are divine beings searching for inner peace, and joy and seeking fulfillment through the things we see and feel, consuming and building our own personality from the outside in, instead of the opposite. Children have always had a special place in the work of Annamaria. She believes that children embody the purity and unfiltered expression of the reality they are facing. Today’s uncertainty is revealed in the portraits that Annamaria has painted. 

 

She has gathered a lot of experience from her journeys across different parts of the word. Her inspirations comes from places like Zanzibar, Cape Verde, Vietnam, Dominican Republican, New York and Europe. 

 

She expanding her scope of experience to different mediums of expression like graphite, charcoal, watercolors and oil paintings. She doesn't plan the concept of her paintings, she prefers to be led by the canvas and days inspiration.

The latest collection FREE HUMAN, is a mix of portraits of humans. All the stories and poems are written by Annamaria herself.
